Auto-Body-in-Residence

Each item— from a blowfish lamp to a piece of a wall's wooden siding — was specifically selected to represent its owner's practice. This curious collection is displayed on a brightly hued table: blue in reference to the blue prints the collective has been perusing in search of their latest home and residency space. (They've been homeless since vacating their original base, a renovated auto body shop in Bellport, Long Island.) One of these potential sites is the American painter George Tooker’s Bellport house and studio, of which is depicted in two limited-edition prints, on display and available for sale at the exhibition.

Be sure to make your way— way, way up in the Bronx— before April 22nd, at 6BASE. But first, become better acquainted with Auto Body, by heading back to office's interview with the collective.
