Office LA Part 2

David Friend, 19, Modeling mostly and some other random schemes

Where do you work best?

Outside or alone inside.

What is being creative to you?

Hard to say with one answer, but getting a cool idea and then talking about it with someone and working to bring it to life.

Braina Laviena, 27, Model/Photographer

Where do you work best?

At home with my cats, a cup of tea, and some classical music.

What is being creative to you?

I think creativity is an intrinsic talent we all have and express in many different ways, even in careers that are not considered 'creative'. I'd say being an artist helps you express that creativity and your emotions, or carry out an idea via a tangible medium without any limitations or guidelines whatsoever. For me, it also means not overthinking or doubting your instincts, but instead acting on them.

Joe Roberts, 20, Professional Motorcycle Road Racer

Where do you work best?

I work best with my team at the track. It's where I have to get my job done, and I have my team to help me with that.

What is being creative to you?

Winning races and being the fastest.

James Flemons, 28, Designer/Artist

Where do you work best?

Wherever I have enough space to work comfortably with as many dance breaks as possible.

What is being creative to you?

Full self expression, trial & error, mistakes, less thinking more doing, no second guessing or questioning of oneself.

Kendall Harrison, 24, AlotofShit

Where do you work best?

In the bipolar, sad, and happy corners of my mind where I can understand people.

What is being creative to you?

Being creative is busting YO nuts. Doing only your shit. Even if that means working with other people. But me sitting around being bored is pretty creative too.

Lilliya Scarlett, 17, Model/Artist

Where do you work best?

In isolation.

What is being creative to you?

When I get an idea, nothing can stop me from materializing it.

Dagsen Steele Love, 17, Model/Musician

Where do you work best?

In an Uber.

What is being creative to you?

Plagiarism unto perfection.

Kris Kidd, 23, Writer

Where do you work best?

I used to hole myself up at night and write until morning, but it got to be way too much of a Hemingway cliché sort of thing. The drinking and the chain smoking and all that. Lately I've been trying to write in the morning somewhere with lots of light. It has taken some time to re-adjust, but I think I'm starting to get the hang of it.

What is being creative to you?

I don't know. I've never been one of those people who believes in "the muse" in terms of inspiration, or whatever. I try to write every day, no matter what. I think it's important to push yourself creatively. If you sit around and wait for "it" to strike, you're limiting yourself. Even on an off day, there's a lot to be learned from the stupid shit you come up with.

Ilana Kozlov, 22, Model/Artist

Where do you work best?

I work best in transit. I find that I develop the majority of my ideas when I'm flying.

What is being creative to you?

Queering the relationship between object and language. Disguising things. Confusing things. Rejecting designation. Subverting space that is already taken up.
