Save the Duck FW 21/22

Fire, the emblem of heat and thermal efficiency, is represented in this innovative collection through outerwear that provides protection in extreme temperatures — even down to 20 degrees Celsius. Further, vivid red, orange, and magenta tones stand-in for this element.

In contrast to fire, air represents weightlessness and comfort as conveyed through gentle and breathable knitwear. Water is symbolized through water-resistant Gore-Tex garments and cool blues, lilacs, and greens. Last but certainly not least, the element of earth is prominent within the entire collection through Save the Duck’s dedication to protecting the planet by emphasizing concepts such as ecology and biodiversity. Neutral browns, greens, and yellows breathe life into the visual aspect of the earth element as well.

New products for women include recycled knit-wear, pieces adorned with entirely recycled eco-fur, and a sustainably produced wind and water-resistant parka. Renewed men’s products featured in the collection consist of trench coats and overcoats.

Perhaps the most commendable aspect of Save the Duck’s FW 21/22 Collection is the Recycled Line, including a recycled textile titled “Recy,” as it sums up their commitment to creating comfortable, durable, and protective clothing while also actively regarding the effects of production and consumption.

Save the Duck’s impressively considerate FW 21/22 collection coincided with an environmental campaign titled, “Think Higher.” The campaign features beekeeper Cecilia Pace and is in conjunction with 3Bee, an institution that focuses on maintaining the health of bees. Bees are the focus of the entire campaign since bee populations have been rapidly declining worldwide in recent years. As such, the brand wanted to bring attention to the threats our planet faces at the hand of human action.

By launching this campaign, Save the Duck hopes to reinforce the harmonious relationship between humans and nature, as well as call on the fashion industry to practice safer production methods. So far, the brand’s proactive efforts have paid off, as their love and care for animals have aided in the protection of 20 million ducks over the years.

Through combining education with a down-to-earth approach to fashion, Save the Duck has set the bar high for outerwear. The FW 21/22 Collection as well as photos from the campaign can be viewed below.
